Mullingar Pet Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to provide maternity cover for approximately 15 months, starting September 2025

We are a small, close-knit team of 2 Veterinarians with a dedicated nurse, animal care assistant and practice manager keeping things running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:
Providing high-quality veterinary care across consultations, surgery and diagnostics Performing routine and non-routine surgical procedures Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for each individual patient Building trusting client relationships and maintaining excellent communication Working closely with a small, supportive team to manage the day-to-day clinical workload Applicant Requirements – what we need from you We're looking for someone who enjoys the rhythm of a busy practice, values teamwork, and takes pride in providing outstanding patient care.
You'll need to:
Be VCI registered and eligible to work in Ireland from September 2025 Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a small animal first opinion practice Be confident in all aspects of routine surgery, medicine, and consultations Thrive in a team-oriented, communicative environment Benefits – subject to pro-rata We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business.
