Quantity Surveyor
Job Location: Dublin
Sector: Civil A busy Civil Engineering company are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team and assist on current residential projects in Dublin. They are looking for a driven, problem solving, details orientated candidate to come into the business and hit the ground running and assist with jobs from start to finish.
Office based in Meath but projects are across Dublin and midlands. Fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to progress their career in the right direction with a well-established company. Quantity Surveyor Job Role: Liaise with customers and project managersManagement of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractorsMeasure, price, negotiate and agree budgets and costs for variations to project scopeCheck project costs are correct and raise/resolve queries where necessaryAttend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actionsProduce and maintain up to date procurement schedulesCompile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of ordersCompile subcontract orders for approvalVisit site to measure and value works completedAssess subcontractor payment entitlement and process paymentsCarry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast to keep the management team informed of project performanceWork closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as requiredAssist in the guidance and development of junior surveyorsOther commercial matters as requiredQuantity Surveyor Job Specification: Hold Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management1 – 3 years' experience in the civil engineering industryMotivated, driven and works well within teamProficient in using Microsoft Excel and WordExcellent team player with initiativeAbility to work within tight deadlinesFamiliar with contracts/knowledge of current Construction LawThis client appreciates the value of hard work, professional working practices and high standards and in return can offer an excellent overall package to the right person.
