Our strength is our Direct Sales Force of which we have the largest in Ireland, on the road selling, servicing, and supporting our growing customer base. Our main industry sectors are: Automotive Aftermarket, Engineering & MRO, Construction, Renewables as well as Kitchens, Bedrooms & Bathrooms. Within our company's headquarters in Limerick, you will find over 70 support staff working across a variety of functions including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Services, Purchasing, Human Resources and Logistics.
Role Summary
We are looking to hire an Area Sales Manager covering the South/Midlands area to join our existing team of 7 other Area Sales Managers, each with sales/managerial responsibility for a team of up to 12 Sales Representatives. The ideal candidate will be living in the South/Midlands area. Reporting to the Direct Sales Lead, the ideal candidate will possess a passion for direct selling and fact‑based decision making with a focus on the sales process and sales excellence.

To proactively develop and train all salespeople within the team.
To support and develop the company, omnichannel and divisional strategic and tactical actions & plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment & Training: Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new salespeople. Provide initial and ongoing training to ensure team members are equipped with the required knowledge and skills for success.
Compliance with Objectives & Responsibilities: Ensure your team understands and adheres to their objectives, duties, and responsibilities as outlined in their employment packages.
Team Engagement & Support: Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with each team member. Foster an environment of open communication, trust, and collaboration.
Performance Monitoring & Motivation: Regularly monitor individual and team performance against targets. Implement strategies to motivate and support team members in achieving and exceeding their goals.
Individual Development Planning: Develop tailored development plans for each salesperson, taking into account:
Territory potential
Field sales development programmes
One‑to‑one feedback
Field Accompaniment: Spend a minimum of x full working day per month with each salesperson. Use these days to provide hands‑on coaching and work toward specific, agreed‑upon objectives.
Team Meetings & Training: Organise and lead regular monthly team meetings. Ensure meetings are informative, goal‑oriented, and include product training aligned with Company and Divisional activities.
Monthly One‑to‑One Reviews: Conduct effective monthly 1:1 meetings with each team member. Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide discussions and track progress.
Communication & Collaboration: Maintain proactive and transparent communication with your sales team, senior management, and other departments.
Responsiveness & Follow‑Up: Ensure all team and customer enquiries or requests are handled promptly and professionally, with appropriate follow‑up actions.
The above duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and will be reviewed annually.

Experience: Sales Experience 5‑10 years in B2B direct sales, preferably in fasteners or industrial consumables. Managerial Experience 2‑5 years managing a sales team, ideally in a direct field sales environment.
Key Skill Set: Excellent leadership and communication skills, proactive performance management, technical sales, customer relationship management.
