Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Specialist - 6-Month Fixed Term Contract with a view to become permanent.

A leading international technology-focused organisation is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Specialist for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-volume environment supporting global operations across multiple sectors including technology, med tech, and pharmaceuticals.
About the Role
This is a hands-on technical position requiring deep expertise in IT infrastructure, systems, and enterprise applications. You'll be responsible for maintaining and optimising complex IT environments, managing cloud platforms (especially MS Azure), and supporting day-to-day IT operations. The role includes third-level support, system monitoring, backup and recovery, and ensuring data security and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support IT infrastructure: servers, storage, networks, firewalls, and virtual environments.
Administer Windows Server and Linux systems; automate tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Provision and manage cloud resources, particularly in MS Azure.
Support enterprise applications including Office 365, OKTA, Cisco UC.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades and patches.
Ensure compliance with security standards and conduct regular audits.
Provide third-level technical support and act as an escalation point for IT incidents.
Contribute to technical projects and monthly IT service reports.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years in application and system administration.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure.
Proficiency in scripting and automation.
Familiarity with ITSM principles and enterprise applications.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
