Role Overview
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the design, development, and commissioning of automated systems and machinery. This role combines mechanical engineering expertise with control systems and software knowledge to deliver fully integrated automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
* Lead automation projects from concept, through design, installation, commissioning, and validation.
* Define project requirements, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring quality and compliance.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
Control Systems & Software
* Develop, program, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
* Design automation logic, simulate, test, and troubleshoot control systems.
* Ensure seamless integration between mechanical components and software systems.
System Design & Integration
* Design and optimize automated machinery and production lines.
* Recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.
* Work with robotics, motion control, and safety systems as needed.
Documentation & Support
* Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, manuals, and reports.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed systems.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum 5 years' experience in automation, control systems, and mechanical integration.
Technical Skills
* Strong experience with PLC programming and HMI/SCADA platforms.
* Knowledge of industrial communications, motion control, and automation safety systems.
* Familiarity with robotics, mechanical integration, and validation processes.
Soft Skills
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
* Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable in dynamic environments.
