We are looking for someone with strong Linux troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of networking. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small, agile, cross-functional team – you will have to wear multiple hats
A snapshot of your key responsibilities:
* Maintain and support Linux-based systems (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
* Troubleshoot system-level issues, including performance, networking, and configuration problems.
* Manage and configure firewalls and security rules.
* Support on-premise server infrastructure, including virtualisation platforms.
* Collaborate with other IT team members to maintain stable and secure environments.
* Monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and provide root cause analysis.
* Implement and monitor security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and assist in security incident response.
* Assist with patching, upgrades, and system health checks.
Requirements:
Strong hands-on Linux experience:
* Comfortable with system administration tasks.
* Strong troubleshooting skills – must be able to identify and solve issues independently.
* Experience with Debian-based or Red Hat EL systems is a bonus.
* Unix experience is a bonus.
Infrastructure, Networking and DevOps exposure:
* Basic networking knowledge.
* GitLab or GitHub experience - nice to have.
* Azure – nice to have.
* Kubernetes – nice to have.
* HSM experience – nice to have (related to protecting cloud-based data).
* Cloud environment awareness but also comfortable working in non-cloud native environments.
* Experience with git, containerisation, CI/CD, backup systems, SCAP framework, Satellite, Coding languages - nice to have.
Opportunity type:
Contract (Initial 6 months), Hybrid in Dublin (minimum 2 days/week onsite, some weeks might require fully onsite)
