About Your New Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be involved in the delivery of electrical building services design across a range of residential and commercial projects, from early concept through to construction and handover. You will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams while developing autonomy across design packages.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting in the design of LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, containment and general electrical building services systems.
* Producing electrical calculations, drawings, reports and specifications in line with project requirements and standards.
* Coordinating with mechanical, architectural and structural teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
* Supporting the delivery of projects across all design stages.
* Reviewing technical information, drawings and contractor queries during construction stages.
* Attending site inspections, design meetings and coordination workshops as required.
* Contributing to quality assurance processes and best-practice design standards.
* Developing knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency and compliant electrical design.
What You'll Need to Succeed
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
* Typically 3–7+ years' experience in electrical building services design (all levels considered depending on experience).
* Solid understanding of LV systems, lighting design, life safety systems and general electrical services.
* Experience working on residential and/or commercial projects.
* Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux/Relux, Amtech or similar.
* Working knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, ET101, IS standards and industry design codes.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
* Organised approach to managing tasks, deadlines and technical deliverables.
* Chartered or working toward chartership is advantageous.
