Financial Controller Job Description
We are partnering with a family-run retail business to appoint a Financial Controller. This role plays an instrumental part in ensuring financial compliance, enhancing internal processes, and providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
About the Role:
* Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data for real-time decision-making
* Prepare monthly management accounts and comprehensive financial reports
* Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
* Conduct ad hoc financial analysis for new business ventures
* Manage payroll, AR, and AP with external advisor support
* Oversee internal controls, processes, and KPIs for financial integrity
* Liaise with Revenue on payroll and VAT returns, ensuring tax compliance
* Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders
About You:
* Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, SME finance team experience (retail advantage)
* Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement
* Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
* Proactive problem-solving mindset and critical thinking abilities
* Advanced IT and Excel skills
