Responsibilities
* Direct and oversee all aspects of gym operations, including staff management, facility maintenance, departmental collaboration, and member relations, with measurable targets for operational efficiency and health and safety compliance.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures that optimise workflow and ensure effective management throughout the gym, supervising adherence to budgets and resource utilisation.
* Generate new memberships, drive sales activities, and achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets, measuring membership growth and sales conversion rates.
* Collaborate with marketing to craft campaigns that raise brand awareness and attract new members, assessing marketing value through supervised leads, conversions, and brand engagement metrics.
* Oversee scheduling, quality, and performance of group classes to ensure diverse offerings and high member satisfaction, supervising group class attendance, occupancy, and feedback for ongoing improvement.
* Foster member engagement and retention through innovative programmes, consistent communication, and adaptable service, maintaining high retention by reducing churn and improving member satisfaction scores.
* Ensure rigorous health and safety standards are upheld across the facility.
* Analyse and report on departmental performance metrics, seeing opportunities for improvement and implementing strategic action plans to enhance customer satisfaction and member experience.
* Act as a visible leader, regularly engaging with staff and members to understand needs and drive satisfaction, using surveys and direct feedback to track and enhance the overall member experience.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in sports management, exercise science, business, or relevant field preferred.
* Demonstrated expertise in coordinating gym operations or leading multiple departments within the fitness sector.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Track record of driving sales, marketing campaigns, and group programme success.
* Expertise in fitness equipment, programmes, and current industry trends.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
* CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
