Procurement Manager – Supply Chain (Munster & Connacht)
Morgan McKinley are currently working with our client to recruit a Procurement Manager.
This role offers the opportunity to lead procurement, supplier management, and inventory control activities in a growing manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong negotiator, an analytical thinker, and a collaborative leader who can drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement and supply chain strategy aligned with business goals.
Analyse market trends, risks, and demand patterns to support informed decision-making.
Work closely with senior leadership to align procurement initiatives with long-term operational goals.
Lead, develop, and motivate the procurement team to support capability growth and high performance.
Manage and refine the approved supplier base while building strong, collaborative supplier relationships.
Negotiate contracts that ensure competitive pricing, quality standards, and consistent supply.
Evaluate and onboard new suppliers that align with operational, quality, and sustainability objectives.
see all purchasing and inventory control activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials, components, and subassemblies.
Forecast material requirements using production schedules, sales data, and inventory levels.
Manage inventory to minimise stockouts and reduce carrying costs.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
Secure alternative suppliers where required to ensure business continuity.
Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for supply chain issues.
Support strategic sourcing initiatives linked to manufacturing operations.
Establish and monitor KPIs to measure supply chain performance and efficiency.
Analyse procurement and supply chain data to drive cost reductions and process improvements.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety policies, and environmental regulations.
Partner with suppliers to promote sustainable sourcing, reduce waste, and optimise logistics.
Monitor and report on sustainability performance in line with organisational goals.
Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and MRP/ERP systems.
Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to build positive relationships across suppliers and internal teams.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (required).
Minimum of five years' experience in procurement management.
Experience in an international, matrixed organisation is highly beneficial.
Prior experience within a lean manufacturing environment is a strong advantage.
