Business Development Manager
CREGG are seeking a highly organised and results driven Business Development Manager to join our client, with a headquarters in Galway, in this standalone role. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, driving growth and maximising cross-selling opportunities across all divisions of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify new business opportunities to drive sales growth.
* Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads through research, networking, and strategic outreach.
* Work closely with the Department Director and Marketing team to develop and execute strategies to meet revenue targets.
* Use CRM tools to track activity, manage the sales funnel, and report performance metrics.
* Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring terms and pricing are comprehensive and competitive while aligning with company objectives.
* Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
* Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and professional events.
* Act as main commercial contact for clients.
* Collaborate with internal departments, such as customer support and operations, to ensure client needs are met and the successful delivery of services.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Bachelor’s degree in business or science or relevant experience.
* Over 5 years’ experience in a business development role.
* Previous experience in life sciences or environmental industries will be highly regarded.
* Experience with public procurement and tender writing would be advantageous.
* Commercially driven with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales and revenue targets.
* Client-focused with a deep understanding of customer needs.
* Strong understanding of business operations, laboratory procedures and industry regulations.
* Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
* Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
