The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Information Systems Directorate (GIS) - Digital Transformation & Innovation Department (DTI) - Artificial Intelligence Division (AI) - AI Adoption & Business Solutions Unit (AABS) based in Luxembourg at its headquarters: TRAINEE.
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2026)
Extension: possible up to 6 months if required by University
Program seeks to attract applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union.
Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered.
You are requested to limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications; only the first three applications submitted will be considered.
Objective of the traineeship
This is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced data scientists and data engineers, gain awareness about ethical and responsible AI principles, prepare data, train machine learning/artificial intelligence predictive models, and gain experience with the latest artificial intelligence tools in the AI domain.
Responsibilities
Prepare data for training artificial intelligence models, post-process and analyse obtained results.
Train artificial intelligence predictive models.
Work on compliance of the AI and GenAI solutions of the team with the principles of Responsible AI.
Learn and experiment with new artificial intelligence tools and technologies.
Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills
Final year of studies or university degree preferably in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics, business analytics, economics, or another relevant discipline.
Knowledge of Python, or any other relevant scripting language.
Interest in ethical and Responsible AI.
Data cleaning and data transformation principles and practices.
Any cloud related experience will be considered as an advantage.
Natural language processing and training of machine learning/artificial intelligence models would be considered an advantage.
Analytical skills, and an interest in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools, in particular: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of another EU language would be an advantage.
