Transport Planner Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Transport Planner to join our fast-paced transport and distribution team. This is a key role within a busy and complex operation, responsible for the day-to-day planning and coordination of both our own fleet and preferred third-party carriers.
Main Responsibilities:
* Plan and manage daily driver routes, ensuring full compliance with transport legislation.
* Develop and continuously improve transport delivery schedules to enhance service levels for customers and internal stakeholders.
* Evaluate fleet and driver operations to ensure they remain within legislative guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have experience in transport planning within a fast-moving distribution environment. Strong understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements is also essential. Confident use of transport performance IT systems, excellent communication skills, flexibility in working hours, ability to work under pressure are necessary skills for this position.
