Structural Lead Job Description
Your new role will be to oversee the client's Structural team as a highly experienced Structural Engineer.
This includes:
1. Ensuring the operational and commercial performance of the team, with regular reporting to senior management.
2. Leading and managing a team of structural engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
3. Oversight of design deliverables, maintaining high-quality standards.
4. Managing interactions between project team members, clients, stakeholders, and external sub-consultants.
5. Effective management of team resources, delegating tasks and monitoring project budgets.
6. Collaboration with Project Leads in other sectors or disciplines within the organization, ensuring cohesive delivery.
7. Recruitment for a growing team.
8. Client Relationship Management.
9. Business development, including tender and bid management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have:
* A relevant third-level degree in engineering (Level 8 or higher).
* Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent.
* At least 15 years' experience in structural engineering, with a strong technical background.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines to client satisfaction.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in leading, managing, and coaching a growing team.
* Professional/technical knowledge and skills.
