Lead Project Engineer – Ostomy Engineering
We are seeking a Lead Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be constantly evaluating and improving manufacturing processes, while ensuring new technologies are introduced seamlessly into production. You’ll lead critical engineering projects—from concept through to validation—working cross-functionally with teams across R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Global Engineering.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you’ll own automation-focused process improvements, new product introductions, and capacity-expansion initiatives. If you’re excited by technical challenges, project ownership, and cross-functional influence, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead cross-functional teams to deliver new product and process introductions, cost-saving projects, and capacity expansions.
* Develop and implement new automated manufacturing systems, including concept development, prototyping, and process validation.
* Ensure timely delivery of projects using strong planning, budgeting, and stakeholder communication skills.
* Act as the technical liaison with technology vendors, ensuring robust design transfer and documentation.
* Drive continuous improvement activities across existing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
* Conduct process qualifications and ensure all compliance requirements are met.
* Present project updates to senior stakeholders using clearly defined metrics and timelines.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plastics or Controls Engineering (Master’s in project management or manufacturing systems is a plus)
* 5+ years’ experience in engineering or project delivery in a manufacturing environment (preferably medical device or similar regulated industries)
* Proficient in 2D/3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
* Strong knowledge of automation, pneumatic systems, process development, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
* Experience with project planning tools and techniques (e.g., stage-gate, MS Project, Gantt charts)
* Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, DFM, DOE, or ASQ Green/Black Belt Certification is an advantage
