Summary of Role:
We are an oral surgical practice seeking a reliable, and proactive receptionist to join our close-knit team. This is a primarily practice coordination and administration role, with some minor involvement in chairside assistance and patient-care skills.
As the first point of contact for patients, the receptionist will play a key role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient clinic experience. The receptionist will work in close partnership with the surgical team and take instruction from the oral surgeon and practice manager.
Experience in working in dental or clinical environments is an advantage, but a strong willingness to learn and develop in this area is essential. Training and support will be provided.
Hours of work will be from 09:00am – 1:00pm, 2:00pm – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (40 hour work week).
The position will comprise of a standard probation period.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Experience/Qualifications:
* Flexible and positive attitude towards work
* Emphasis on patient care
* Two – Three year reception experience minimum
* Experience in healthcare environment (preferred)
* Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
* High level of organisation skills and ability to prioritise workflow
* Strong written and verbal communications skills
* Fluent in written and oral English
* Knowledge of clinical and scheduling software would be a distinct advantage
Tasks and Responsibilities:
* First point of contact with patients
* Handling incoming communications (telephone, email, and post)
* Scheduling and managing appoitments
* Scanning and filing patient chart documents (referral letters, x-rays, etc.)
* Health insurance claim form administration (VHI/Laya etc.)
* Billing patients, providing receipts, and recording cash sheets
* Work collaboratively with surgical team to ensure smooth patient experience
* Assisting and being proactive in order to ensure smooth day to day running of the practice
* Ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained, and inform practice manager when stock levels diminish
* Assisting in keeping the practice clean and pleasant as appropriate
Experience:
* Receptionist: 2 – 3 years minimum
