Your best is waiting to be discovered.Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)Job SummaryThe Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for scheduling services; including scheduling/rescheduling patients, new and returning patients. Verifies insurance information and registers the patient. Other office duties include; performing updates in the Epic, and Agility updating patient ques.Essential FunctionsThe essential functions listed below are general examples and not a description of comprehensive duties. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary depending on department or program needs without changing nature or scope of this position or level of responsibility. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.Greets patients and manages phone callsProvides information on various department clinical programs to patients during patient scheduling/intake callSchedules new and returning patient appointmentsCreates patient education packets for various clinical programs and outpatientsManages referral que and generates referrals when appropriate, obtains authorization from insurance and refers patient to the appropriate physician and diagnostic serviceSends communication and referrals to referring physician offices when appropriateScans patient related documents for various clinical programsRequests relevant laboratory data, and diagnostic imaging reports in preparation for patient visitsBuilds customer relations through positive interaction with patients and other hospital departments and clientsConsistently and accurately registers patients in Epic with all required information and keeps up with new registration requirements, checks patients in and out through AgilityResponsible for obtaining insurance and/or employer authorization as applicable.Responsible for time of services payments to patients as applicable.Responsible for subpoena and medical record requests, locating medical reports in various systems.Ensures the daily review of email system for department communications. Participates in department in-service programs. Performs education modules monthly and HealthStream education when due.Assists with inventory and replacement of supplies by ordering or notifying supervisor.Attends huddles and mandatory in-service meetings. Accepts assignment of other duties as needed, receives training and/or orientation.Set up corporate client protocolsCall and fax work status reports to employers and insurance.Effective communication with employers and to ensure claim is filedWork with adjusters to get MD orders authorized and sentDailey credit card check depositMaintains work status lineAssists employee healthResponsible for scheduling pre-opsResponsible for obtaining MD notes form other physician officesEmployee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Healthcare – ValleyCare's patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactionsJob QualificationsEducationAA Degree preferredExperienceTwo Years medical office experienceLicense/CertificationN/AKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesExcellent communication skills.Excellent phone and computer skills.Working knowledge of medical terminology.Working knowledge of insurance terminology.Strong organization skills and attention to detail.PhysicalDemand and Working ConditionsThe Physical Requirements and Working Conditions in which the job is typically performed are available from the Occupational Health Department. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
