Role Overview
We are seeking an Occupational Health Doctor to join a leading provider of occupational health services in Waterford. Must be on the specialist division of the Irish Medical Council.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert medical advice on workplace health, including fitness for work, absence management, and return‑to‑work assessments.
Conduct pre‑employment medicals, health surveillance, and occupational health assessments.
Collaborate with employers and HR teams to address workplace health concerns and implement health promotion strategies.
Manage and report on workplace incidents, including occupational injuries and illnesses.
Offer guidance on compliance with health and safety legislation and standards.
Provide specialist advice on mental health, ergonomics, and work‑life balance.
Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in occupational health.
Candidate Profile
Fully qualified Medical Practitioner registered with the Irish Medical Council.
Experienced GP, with a demonstrable interest or qualification in occupational health e.g., Diploma in Occupational Medicine.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with employees, employers, and multidisciplinary teams.
A solution‑oriented approach with excellent problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge of workplace health legislation and standards in Ireland is highly desirable.
