As Ireland's only indigenous mutual insurer, we exist to protect and safeguard the interests of our Members, consisting of all 31 Local Authorities, 16 Education and Training Boards, the HSE and Regional Assemblies. We play an important role in supporting our Members in serving the needs of their local communities across the length and breadth of Ireland.

Our purpose is as relevant today as it was when we were founded. We have maintained this purpose by attracting the very best talent to meet the evolving needs of our Members and customers.

About the Role

This role sits within the Sustainability Team, working closely with various departments to ensure alignment with the company's sustainability objectives and progress toward net zero by 2050. The coordinator will focus on tracking performance against sustainability targets, collecting and analysing data, supporting sustainability reporting, and coordinating activities that underpin the Climate Transition Plan - a critical short-term priority as the company accelerates its journey to net zero.

This role will suit an enthusiastic and driven individual with a passion for sustainability and a strong ability to work in a structured, data-driven environment.

We are committed to empowering and supporting our Members to lead the climate transition—protecting what matters today while building a more sustainable and resilient tomorrow. The Sustainability Co-ordinator will play a key role in the delivery of that.

To be successful in the role you will be accountable for

* Contributing to the development and advancement of the Climate Transition Plan in collaboration with the Head of Sustainability.
* Collaborating with and supporting the Underwriting department in identifying, collecting and validating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data relevant to insurance activities, a part of the company's net zero strategy.
* Collaborating with other business departments to understand their ESG data needs and ensure sustainability reporting requirements are integrated into existing processes with minimal operational disruption.
* Working with business departments to support the development of automated reporting capabilities that enable the sustainability team to access ESG data efficiently, while minimising additional operation impact.
* Assisting the Underwriting department and other internal departments (such as Claims, and Investments) in identifying and developing specific sustainability KPIs.
* Preparing sustainability reports, maintaining dashboards, and assisting in tracking progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and regulatory requirements.
* Co-ordinating cross-functional sustainability efforts and developing internal communications to promote awareness and engagement.
* Organising sustainability events and participate in Industry Forums, together with supporting our Members' Climate Forums.
* Research best practices and emerging trends in sustainable insurance, climate risk, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing and benchmark the company's performance against this data.
* Preparing and delivering sustainability reports and presentations to support compliance with regulatory and voluntary frameworks.

What we're looking for

* Relevant third-level qualification in Sustainability, Sustainable Finance or a related field.
* Experience in the field of Sustainability/ESG; experience in the financial services sector is desirable.
* Experience in measuring, analysing or reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the insurance industry would be a key advantage.
* An understanding of sustainability concepts, sustainability regulations, and compliance requirements in the finance sector would be a key advantage.
* Familiarity with international sustainability standards, certifications and ESG frameworks.
* Experience in successfully completing sustainability-related projects and contributing to business outcomes.
* Ability to create and follow plans, work with different teams, and solve problems as they arise.
* Capability to motivate yourself and others, adapt to changes, and foster an environment that supports growth and continuous improvement.
* A strong interest in sustainability.

What you'll get

* The opportunity to contribute to meaningful sustainability initiatives that empower our members to lead the climate transition and build a more sustainable, resilient future.
* Exposure to cross-functional projects and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders on ESG and climate-related programmes.
* Opportunities to develop professional skills in data analysis, reporting and presentations within the area of sustainability.
* The chance to work closely with different teams and departments across the company as it relates to the core duties of the role.
