Senior Technical Architect - 12-Month Contract (Day rate) Location: Hybrid, Ireland Job Description: Our client in the engineering and construction sector is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect to support a large-scale technology transformation programme. The successful candidate will take ownership of architectural design and will be instrumental in developing and executing a long-term technical roadmap. Job Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing technical architectures. Develop and maintain a strategic technical roadmap aligned with business and IT goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business objectives into architectural solutions. Ensure consistency of architecture across multiple systems and platforms. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions. Oversee integration efforts between on-premises systems and cloud environments. Maintain comprehensive architectural documentation and provide governance oversight. Guide project teams in the adoption of architectural standards and principles. Provide input on technical risk, security posture, and future scalability. Experience Required Minimum of 8 years experience in a senior architecture role within IT or digital transformation environments. Strong background in engineering or construction industry IT systems. Experience developing and owning enterprise-level technical roadmaps. Proven stakeholder management and the ability to influence at all levels. Track record of successful design and delivery of enterprise architecture solutions. Desirable Skills Knowledge of industry-specific platforms such as BIM, CAD, or project lifecycle tools. Experience working in hybrid or cloud-first environments. Familiarity with governance frameworks such as TOGAF. Understanding of agile delivery models and DevOps principles. Prior involvement in large-scale digital modernisation or legacy transformation initiatives. Educational Requirements Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, SABSA, or similar are highly advantageous.
