As an Environmental Manager with a critical role, you will play a key part in supporting senior management to ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently, while also protecting the natural environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist support in legal compliance, environmental stewardship, biodiversity conservation, and resource allocation.
* Act as deputy to the Environment & Sustainability Manager as required and oversee departmental resources and work activities.
* Maintain and enhance the Environmental Management System to retain ISO14001 certification.
* Manage environmental records and statistics related to environmental conditions along the railway network.
* Support business units in developing environmental controls for maintenance works.
* Implement initiatives to improve environmental and biodiversity performance.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders on railway activities and infrastructural improvements.
* Ensure awareness and adherence to relevant environmental and planning legislation.
Requirements:
* A degree (minimum) in an environmental discipline.
* 10 years' post-graduate experience in a related field.
* In-depth knowledge of Irish and EU environmental and planning legislation.
* Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems.
