Group Head of Human Resources Location: Longford. Frequent Travel required. Permanent full time - Fully On-site Competitive salary plus benefits & company car About the role: Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, this role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic senior leadership team and contribute to the development and execution of the company's growth strategy. The successful candidate will lead the people agenda across the business and drive the ongoing development of the HR team. They will play a key role in realising the organisation's vision, providing strategic HR leadership, and guiding the business toward achieving its goals and key milestones. Key responsibilities: Develop and deliver the HR strategy in alignment with the company's goals and objectives across all business locations. Partner with key business stakeholders to embed consistent HR standards and practices across the organisation, ensuring a unified approach to the people agenda in areas such as talent acquisition, talent management, succession planning, and performance management. Provide strategic leadership in employee and industrial relations (ER/IR), fostering strong relationships with union representatives and leading key initiatives such as pay negotiations and organisational change. Design and implement a comprehensive talent development plan that supports functional growth strategies, including workforce planning, leadership development, and reward management. Participate in the recruitment and selection process for key roles, conducting compensation analyses to ensure competitive and equitable offers. Identify training and development needs by site, function, and team; oversee the evaluation and effectiveness of training and coaching programs to ensure measurable impact and return on investment. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals to ensure effective execution of the HR strategy, adherence to budgets, and full compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and employment standards. Key Requirements: A business degree or an equivalent relevant qualification (postgraduate qualification an advantage). A minimum of 10 years' experience leading and managing an HR function at a senior leadership level. Proven track record of managing multi-site operations and engaging with multiple unions. Demonstrated success in project management and the delivery of complex HR initiatives. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems (HRIS). Excellent facilitation, problem-solving, coaching, critical thinking, and presentation skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with strong influencing, consulting, and relationship management skills to drive the achievement of business objectives. Proven leadership capability with a focus on developing and empowering teams. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities. Sound understanding of HRIS platforms, payroll oversight, and compensation strategies. Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Ireland and the UK as required.
