Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates for
mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
, including HVAC, piping, fire protection, and power distribution.
• Review and interpret
tender documents, blueprints, and specifications
to determine project scope, technical requirements, and estimation parameters.
• Perform detailed
quantity take-offs
and develop accurate pricing for materials, equipment, subcontractors, and labor.
• Collaborate closely with design teams, project managers, and suppliers to ensure cost alignment and technical accuracy.
• Manage
value engineering initiatives
by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
• Prepare bid documents, pricing schedules, and technical clarifications for submission to clients.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitiveness and adherence to specifications.
• Support bid strategy meetings and provide input to senior management on pricing risks, contingencies, and market trends.
• Maintain and update
cost databases, unit rates, and benchmarking data
for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conduct post-tender reviews to analyze estimating performance and improve future bidding accuracy.
• Oversee and mentor junior estimators, ensuring consistent quality and methodology across all MEP disciplines.
Job requirements
• Proven experience in
MEP estimation
across data centers, commercial, and industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of
HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and plumbing systems
.
• Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
, or Construction Management.
• Additional certification in
Estimating
or
Quantity Surveying
is preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in
MEP estimating
, including large-scale or mission-critical projects (e.g., data centers, hospitals, or industrial facilities).
• Proficient in
CostX
,
Bluebeam
, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of
construction contracts, tendering procedures, and procurement processes
.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability.
