Overview

The role of Maintenance Technician is an integral part of the maintenance team supporting centres across both brands. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, this person will have an exciting and rewarding role, in a result oriented and fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

* Maintaining areas for which you are responsible for in a safe and clean condition.
* Carrying out repair requests (where capable) across the whole Busy Bees business as determined, including basic electrics as permitted.
* Carpentry works and installation of replacement kitchen and changing units as required.
* Plumbing works.
* Maintain the integrity and security of the centre perimeters and ensure that all alarms and security systems are maintained in excellent working order.
* Work closely with the Centre Directors and manage monthly maintenance lists through the Expansive app to ensure oversight of all maintenance tasks and completion rates.
* Support the maintenance lead with ad hoc projects as required, including setup of new sites and removal of waste, erection of furniture/cots as required, and transfer of equipment between hubs and centres.
* Attend centre emergencies and advise area managers on risk assessments.
* Assist in assessing centres for rodent activity and alert the centre manager and maintenance lead of any concerns.
* Preserve and improve centres throughout the year, including gardening and ground maintenance (mowing, hedgerows, weeding, planting), keeping pavements free of weeds, power washing garden areas, and occasional painting of walls.
* Adhere to Health and Safety at Work Act, conduct risk assessments, and comply with COSHH regulations.
* Report accidents and work with the Health & Safety Manager on incidents.
* Attend regular team meetings in the Greenogue maintenance hub and collaborate on maintenance projects.
* Utilise the Expansive system to maintain oversight of maintenance tasks and completion rates.


Required Qualifications

* Familiarity with building maintenance practices.
* Proficient in using standard maintenance tools and machinery.
* Able to work independently and interpret instructions effectively.
* Strong communication skills with a practical approach to problem-solving.
* Capable of organizing workload and managing time efficiently.
* Relevant hands-on experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical work, or general repairs is required.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service, especially when interacting with centre staff across both brands.
