Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist (Acute Hospital, Dublin)
Location: West Dublin
Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 12 month contract (with potential extension)
Salary: HSE salary scale, aligned with experience
Responsibilities
* Lead and provide high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute setting.
* Assess, plan, and implement individualised treatment plans for patients in orthopaedics, medical, surgical, and the medical assessment unit.
* Supervise and mentor junior Occupational Therapists and students.
* Drive service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
* Promote functional independence through rehabilitation interventions and discharge planning.
* Educate patients and their families about therapy goals and progress.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with hospital policies.
* Participate in service development initiatives and quality improvement projects.
* Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
Requirements
* CORU Registration as an Occupational Therapist (Essential).
* A minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience, with at least 1 year in an acute hospital setting.
* Strong clinical skills, particularly in orthopaedics, surgical, and medical rehabilitation.
* Proven ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively to an MDT.
* Leadership and mentoring experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and work effectively within a team.
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team environment.
