Physiotherapist – Adult Primary Care
The Physiotherapist will provide a high-quality, evidence-based Physiotherapy service as part of the multidisciplinary Primary Care Team, supporting adults in the Edenderry area. The post holder will deliver comprehensive assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services that promote independence, functional ability, and wellbeing in the community.
Responsibilities of Physiotherapist – Adult Primary Care
* Manage an adult caseload with a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and chronic conditions within a Primary Care setting.
* Provide comprehensive assessment, intervention, and review of clients to support independence and improve quality of life.
* Deliver physiotherapy services in clinic, home, and community environments.
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, and other team members to deliver integrated, client‑centred care.
* Promote self‑management strategies and provide education to clients, families, and carers.
* Contribute to health promotion, falls prevention, and physical activity initiatives.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical records in accordance with HSE and professional standards.
* Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to staff grade colleagues, students, and physiotherapy assistants as appropriate.
* Participate in ongoing professional development and training to ensure practice remains current and evidence‑based.
* Engage in service evaluation, quality improvement, and audit activities.
* Contribute to the planning and development of physiotherapy and multidisciplinary services within Primary Care.
* Participate in case discussions, team meetings, and service reviews.
* Ensure compliance with data protection, health and safety, and relevant HSE governance policies.
Responsibilities of Physiotherapist – Adult Primary Care
* Hold a recognised qualification in Physiotherapy approved by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
* Have at least 3 years post‑qualification experience as a Physiotherapist if Senior, open on staff experience.
* Relevant adult caseload experience in Primary Care, community, or rehabilitation settings is desirable.
