Data Scrum Master

Position Summary:
Bentley Systems is seeking an experienced and motivated Scrum Master to drive agile delivery within our Data organization. In this role, you will serve as a servant leader and agile coach, enabling high-performing cross-functional teams to deliver trusted, business-critical data products. You will guide teams in adopting a product mindset, focusing on measurable outcomes, and embedding continuous improvement practices that accelerate Bentley's data-driven transformation.
Responsibilities:
* Facilitate all agile ceremonies for one or two teams, ensuring that sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement run smoothly and effectively.
* Help teams and stakeholders embrace agile principles and cultivate a product mindset where data capabilities are managed as long-lived assets that deliver continuous business value.
* Work closely with Product Owners to maintain a prioritized backlog that balances new features, risk management, technical debt, and data quality improvements.
* Remove impediments, whether technical, organizational, or procedural, so that the team can maintain focus and momentum throughout each sprint.
* Create an open, collaborative, and self-organizing team environment.
* Use flow metrics such as cycle time, throughput, and work in progress to shift the conversation from output to measurable outcomes.
* Foster continuous improvement through retrospectives, experimentation, and feedback loops.
* Align with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches to share best practices, manage dependencies, and support scaling across the data organization.
* Support the adoption and effective use of platforms such as Azure DevOps and dbt.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably within data engineering, analytics, or complex software delivery environments.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
* Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I or higher) required.
* Experience with scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe is highly desirable.
* Proven experience in enterprise-scale agile transformations.
* Strong understanding of data management practices, including governance, quality, metadata management, or data product development.
* Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities across both technical and business audiences.
* Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
* Proficiency with agile delivery tools such as Azure DevOps.
* Familiarity with modern data workflows.
* Passion for enabling cultural change and helping organizations become truly data driven.
