We deliver trust, certainty and value to our clients while embracing innovation and shaping the future of construction.The Joinery Floor Supervisor reports to Training Centre Manager and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities within the joinery workshop in a training centre environment. This role involves supervising apprentices, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all tools and machinery, and supporting the delivery of a high‑quality training programme. The Supervisor acts as a key liaison between apprentices, instructors and management, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment and ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations.The Joinery Floor Supervisor is based primarily on-site within the Training Centre's workshop, working closely with apprentices and staff. This position may occasionally necessitate evening or weekend work to assist with ongoing supply to our projects.ResponsibilitiesOversee daily operations on the joinery workshop floor, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.Support the delivery of high‑quality products and training outputs for projects across the Sisk business.Monitor apprentice progress, provide guidance and constructive feedback, and assist in practical assessments.Maintain equipment and workshop cleanliness, conducting regular safety checks and reporting maintenance requirements.Contribute to the planning and delivery of training activities in alignment with curriculum requirements.Sign off on‑the‑job phases in line with SOLAS apprenticeship requirements.Enforce health and safety policies, carry out risk assessments and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards.Organise materials, manage inventory and coordinate the ordering of supplies as needed.Promote an inclusive, respectful and supportive learning environment that encourages teamwork and skill development.Prepare progress reports and communicate apprentice achievements or any concerns to management.Complete the required SOLAS on‑the‑job forms for apprentices, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.ExperienceRequiredDemonstrated experience in joinery or carpentry, ideally within a workshop environment.DesirableExperience with computer‑aided drawing (CAD) software.QualificationsQQI Level 6 Craft Certificate in Carpentry or JoineryFull, clean driving licenceStrong organisational and leadership abilities, with the capacity to support, guide and motivate apprenticesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsStrong understanding of health and safety requirements in a workshop settingAbility to manage resources and coordinate multiple tasks efficientlyAdditional InformationCompetitive salary26 days annual leave plus additional company daysPension and benefitsUnlimited learning and development opportunitiesMuch moreOur People and Recruitment CommitmentAt Sisk Group our people are at the heart of our success.
