The role of Mechanical and Electrical Quantity Surveyor involves overseeing the financial aspects of projects, ensuring accurate budgeting, reporting, and profit planning. This position demands exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and internal project teams.
* Budgeting and Financial Planning: Skilled at preparing and managing project budgets, identifying areas for cost reduction, and implementing efficient financial strategies.
* Commercial Meetings: Facilitate and manage commercial meetings with clients and project teams to ensure timely and accurate progress reports.
* Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts to guarantee timely payments and adherence to procurement terms.
* Contract Administration: Administer contract obligations, identify potential risks, and report them promptly to senior management.
* Scheduling and Progress Reporting: Collaborate closely with the planning engineer to ensure accurate progress reporting and scheduling.
* Cost Estimation and Negotiation: Capable of estimating costs for daily work changes, site dayworks, and site change orders, as well as negotiating with clients or their representatives when necessary.
* Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records and provide detailed backup to support commercial tracking and costing.
