The Role Reporting to the Commercial & Contracts Director, the Sr.
Contracts Manager is responsible for the effective management, administration, and performance of CHMs contracts.
The role ensures contracts are commercially sound, compliant, and delivered to agreed budgets, scope, quality, and margin objectives.
The Sr.
Contracts Manager supports integration of acquired businesses, drives consistent contract governance across depots, and ensures alignment between commercial, operational, and design functions.
Main Duties & Tasks Strategic Delivery & Commercial Oversight Align contract and commercial decisions with CHM Groups long-term goals and market positioning.
Drive profitability and margin protection across contracts and depots.
Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure commercial viability and operational alignment.
Build and maintain strong client and supplier relationships to support business growth.
Make informed decisions balancing commercial risk, delivery timelines, and quality standards.
Team Management & Development Lead and manage a team of contract and commercial professionals across sites.
Set clear expectations and KPIs, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
Foster a high-performance culture rooted in collaboration and ownership.
Coach and mentor junior staff, supporting career development and succession planning.
Conduct performance reviews and uphold CHMs values in team leadership.
Contract Administration & Management Manage day-to-day contract performance, ensuring delivery to agreed commercial terms, timelines, and specifications.
Oversee contract variations, extensions, claims, and commercial change processes in line with governance standards.
Ensure robust contract records including correspondence, variations, and approvals.
Cross Functional Collaboration Work closely with Sales, Design, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Logistics to ensure contracts are commercially viable, deliverable, and aligned to operational plans.
Support integration of contract practices and controls across acquired businesses and multiple depots.
Lead and attend contract handover, progress, and review meetings to ensure alignment between bid, delivery, and operational teams.
Governance & Reporting Ensure compliance with CHMs commercial governance, risk, and reporting requirements.
Provide regular reports to the Commercial & Contracts Director on contract performance, risks, and opportunities.
Support development of commercial action plans where performance or risk issues arise.
Promote health and safety awareness and compliance as part of leadership accountability.
