Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Laboratory Manager to lead our Environmental Laboratory. The successful candidate will have a strong background in wastewater and domestic water analysis, with expertise in inorganic chemistry and experience managing a small team.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong people management skills with the ability to mentor and coach team members. Proven experience driving change, highly organised, and able to work on own initiative are essential. A collaborative approach, good communication skills, and fluency in English are also required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all Environmental Laboratory activities to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
* Coordinate daily laboratory activities and prioritise tasks to optimise workflow and efficiency.
* Support the testing of samples, recording, and reporting of results in an efficient manner according to existing procedures and ISO standards.
* Develop and implement laboratory protocols for wastewater and domestic water testing to maximise efficiencies, in line with Industry standards.
* Drive improvements in lab processes and workflows through innovative solutions.
* Maintain accurate laboratory records and paperwork in accordance with documented procedures.
* Ensure daily checks and calibrations of laboratory equipment are performed and recorded.
* Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and availability.
* Manage, mentor, and supervise environmental lab team members.
Requirements:
* A 3rd level qualification in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field is essential.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental laboratory settings, with a focus on wastewater and domestic water analysis.
* Proficient in inorganic chemistry principles and methodologies.
* Proven experience in managing and developing a team.
* Fluent English speaker.
* Valid working permit is essential.
