Role Purpose

The Social Media Video Editor plays a significant role in delivering high-quality, engaging creative content that supports the brand and business objectives of Motion and its associated entities, Carzone, CarsIreland and Cartell.

Alongside the Group Creative Producer, the Video Editor will play a key role in bringing the company's visual storytelling to life. This position is responsible not just for piecing together footage, but for crafting compelling narratives that resonate with audiences, strengthen brand identity, and drive engagement across digital channels. The editor transforms raw materials ranging from interviews and event recordings to social media clips and marketing campaigns into polished, professional, and emotionally engaging content.

This role demands a balance of technical expertise (editing, sound design, motion graphics, colour correction) and creative storytelling ability. The Social Media Video Editor collaborates closely with creative teams, marketers, and stakeholders to understand objectives, translate briefs into engaging visuals, and deliver content that performs effectively on multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

* Edit and assemble raw footage taken by our videographer into high-quality, engaging short-form video content for social media platforms, marketing campaigns, and internal use.
* Apply visual storytelling techniques, pacing, and structure to maximize audience engagement.
* Add motion graphics, sound design, subtitles, and other post-production elements where required.
* Optimize video content for various platforms (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, website).
* Ensure all edits comply with brand identity, tone, and style guidelines.
* Collaborate with producers, directors, and content teams to achieve creative vision and meet project objectives.
* Stay up to date with editing trends, social media formats, and industry-standard techniques.
* Maintain organized project files, media asset libraries, and version control.
* Occasionally publish video content on social media channels to ensure high-quality output

Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes

* Proficiency in video and graphic editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, After Effects, Photoshop)
* Strong understanding and passion of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.
* Ability to produce and edit video for different platforms and sizes.
* Strong understanding of social media channels i.e. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube
* Knowledge of audio mixing, colour grading, and file formats.
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Ability to take feedback constructively and make revisions quickly.
* Creative mindset with problem-solving ability.
* Creative integrity when it comes to upholding a project vision.
* An interest in cars and new technology.

Qualifications & Experience

* Qualification in Film, Media Production, Communications, or related field (preferred)
* Demonstrated experience editing across different formats: promotional videos, social content, branded storytelling, interviews, or product explainers.
* Portfolio / reel showcasing a variety of video work.
