Location: On site / Galway, Irelandjob type: Fixed term / Full-timeSector and subsector: Medical & Healthcare | Allied Health ProfessionalsSalary: Competitive salaryApplication are invited for the position of Theatre Administrator and Verifier.This role is on a temporary basis (6-12 months) working full time (37 hours per week)Role SummaryThe post holder will be responsible for the organisation and efficient running of the theatre office in addition to verifying theatre cases.ResponsibilitiesCompile theatre list each week according to Theatre Schedule, Admissions and Same Day SurgeryLiaise with Consultant Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Surgeons Secretaries re list information and list requirementsUpdate as necessary theatre lists with emergency cases and relevant information·Assisting Theatre Sisters in day to day running of the Theatre DepartmentAttend and minute departmental meetings/progress report meetings.Inform Theatre Sisters, Theatre Staff & Consultant Surgeons of Changes or Information during the day as changes occurCross cover verifying role for annual leave.Book accommodation for on call theatre staff.Book radiographer for cases under instruction of nurse.Phone Duties Including noting all queries that come in by telephone and liaising with relevant partyAdministration Duties including off duty, letters to relevant parties, information bulletins, policies consultant preferences and costings as requestedGreeting Theatre Visitors and directing them as appropriateOrganising lockers, fobs, and relevant information for all new Consultants & Theatre Staff on arrivalEnsure that a sufficient stock of stationary and theatre documentation booklets etc. is available in the Theatre Department.Confirm that all theatre cases are correct and completely documented and that all cases are “verified” within the system in a timely manner.Ensure that all documents are electronically signed by the end of each dayPerform daily charge reconciliation to ensure all charges generated the previous day, arrive in the Billing moduleMaintain and apply coding for each case as it occursMaintain all records relating to implantable itemsMaintaining the Meditech database on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the Theatre utilization reportsMaintain OR/MM Dictionaries – in terms of flagging any implants on the OR side for tracking.Provide backup coverage for the Scheduler and the Stores / Theatre HCAParticipate in auditsProviding the first level of system support as problems are reported by the Theatre staffWorking as a liaison between IT and the Theatre as problems are identifiedAny other duties as assigned by the Theatre ManagerThe CandidateIdeally 5 years relevant administration experience in a healthcare setting.Excellent numeracy, communication and organisational skillsUnderstanding of general medical terminologyPrevious experience with Meditech patient information system (Desirable)Closing date for receipt of applications is: Monday, June 08 th 2026 at 4.30 pm.Blackrock Health Galway Clinic is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
