The CNM2 (NPD) will promote evidence-based practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care and nursing standards.
The CNM 2 (NPD) will play a key role in the standardisation, implementation, education and support of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and in the embedding of the Careful Nursing Philosophy and Professional Practice Model.
**Principle Duties and Key Responsibilities****1.
Clinical Practice & Quality*** Promote and support evidence-based nursing practice.
* Promote and embed the Careful Nursing Philosophy and Professional Practice Model and support staff to translate this philosophy into their clinical practice.
* Lead and participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
* Analyse audit findings and implement improvement plans.
* Contribute to the development and review of policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.
* Monitor nursing quality care metrics and support performance improvement.
* Support the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Electronic Health Record across the clinical areas.
* Act as an EHR Superuser between nursing staff and the EHR digital team.
* Assist with the in the development of nursing documentation standards within the EHR and ensure compliance with National Standards (HIQA, JCI, NMBI, JAG).
**2.
Education & Training*** Identify and assess learning needs of nursing staff and Healthcare Assistants (HCAs).
* Develop, deliver, and evaluate education programmes using a blended learning approach inclusive of online learning, workshops, information sessions, and clinical skills fair.
* Facilitate clinical skills training in both classroom and clinical environments.
* Support preceptorship, mentorship, and staff development.
* Develop and manage online learning resources (e.g. Workday or equivalent platforms).
* Coordinate and deliver ongoing in-service education programmes e.g. IV med, Venepuncture and Cannulation, CVAD and Careful Nursing.
**3.
Leadership & Management*** Provide professional and clinical leadership in nursing practice development within the nursing department.
* Support the implementation of service improvements and innovation.
* Act as a role model and promote a culture of continuous learning.
* Participate in committees, working groups, and relevant meetings.
* Support staff engagement and foster a positive working environment.
* Promote staff engagement with digital transformation.
**4.
Audit, Governance & Compliance*** Participate in internal and external quality and accreditation processes (e.g. JCI, HIQA, NMBI and JAG).
* Support data collection, analysis, and reporting of quality indicators.
* Ensure compliance with national standards, policies, and guidelines.
* Apply project management principles to practice development initiatives.
* Lead the implementation and ongoing monitoring of Nursing Quality Care Metrics across clinical areas.
* Support clinical teams to accurately collect, record and validate data in line with national standards.
* Analyse metric results to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
* Facilitate the use of MEG dashboards to monitor performance and drive accountability.
* Support staff to interpret audit results and translate them into actionable improvements.
**5.
