Key Responsibilities
Key tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
Design Outputs & Responsibilities:
* Act as Lead Designer in all projects as assigned throughout the lifetime of each contract
* Mentoring Junior Team Members / Reviewing design work
* Attending Client meetings and advising on design issues
* Designing steelwork and reinforced concrete
* Utilisation of structural design software
* Foundation & Geotechnical design
* Structural design to Eurocode Standards
* Fundamental project management skills
* Preparation of material specifications
* Preparation of calculations and drawing packages
* On-site quality auditing and recording as-built information
* Temporary works design
* Specifying survey and site investigation requirements
* Occasional travel to and from work sites
* Business Development & client liaison where required
* Contribute effectively as part of a multidisciplinary design team taking responsibility for all aspects of design outputs
* Reviewing and signing off on Design Certificates
* Support the operations team in terms of technical advice & provide design solutions where required
* Assist in the production construction work packs ahead of commencement of on-site work
* Use experience gained to date to enhance TLI Group's ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001 accreditation & processes
* Act as nominated PSDP representative for TLI Group where necessary
* Identify & follow up on potential project opportunities as they arise
* Keep up to date on new technologies, build techniques and design innovations to drive improvements in cost, quality, and timescales
* Assisting Tendering/Bid Team
About the role
TLI Group are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Design Engineer.
This role can be based in one of our Tralee, Cork, or Dublin offices, with travel to sites required on occasion.

Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications
* Minimum: Honours Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
* Chartered Engineer or aiming to achieve Chartership in the near future
Knowledge
* Proficient use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, Tekla Tedds etc
* Basic knowledge of the utilities sector is an advantage
