The primary role of the Clerical Assistant will be to provide secretarial services to the Inpatient Unit (IPU) and Community Palliative Care team (CPC) to cover periods of leave. When not covering the IPU or CPC the Clerical Assistant will assist in managing and updating the database for staff training.
Applicants must have:
(i) Third level business/Administration or other relevant qualification.
(ii) Experience in healthcare environment desirable.
(iii) Two years experience as Ward Clerk / Medical Secretary
(iv) Excellent organisational, administrative, resource and time management skills; the ability to multitask combined with the ability to prioritise
(v) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong attention to detail
(vi) Strong IT Skills / computer literacy e.g. MS Word, Excel, Outlook
(vii) Understanding of the principles of Quality Management / Accreditation
(viii) A reliable, diligent and trustworthy character
(ix) Ability to treat all information confidentially and sensitively.
