Senior Financial Accountant – Cork
Our client, a well‑established and growing Cork‑based business, is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their expanding finance team. Operating in a dynamic, evolving environment, the company has recently strengthened its presence in the Irish market and is embarking on a phase of integration and growth.
This role is ideal for a results‑driven finance professional with a background in financial accounting and reporting who wishes to play a key role in a fast‑paced, growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts to strict deadlines
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and prepare monthly financial packs
Manage monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
Assist with KPI reporting and the preparation of monthly management reports
Contribute to monthly forecasting and budgeting processes
Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to support decision‑making
Support the annual audit and liaise with external auditors
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices
Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills
Commercially aware with the ability to contribute strategically to financial planning
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage at all levels
