Occupational Therapy Assistant
Medforce Recruitment is delighted to partner with an innovative Integrated Care Programme for Older Persons (ICPOP) Team in an Acute setting to recruit an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA). This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of an experienced, multidisciplinary team supporting early discharge and rehabilitation for older adults transitioning from acute care to the community.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapy Assistant:
* Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering person-centred interventions focused on improving function and promoting independence
* Support older adults in their recovery through mobility practice, ADL retraining, and provision of equipment
* Contribute to safe and timely discharge planning by supporting home visits and follow-up in community settings
* Monitor and document progress under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to MDT discussions as appropriate
Requirements for the Occupational Therapy Assistant:
* Qualification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or relevant healthcare support certification
* Experience working in a hospital, rehabilitation, or community care setting preferred
* A strong interest in working with older adults and supporting reablement
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
* A full driver’s licence and access to transport (essential for community visits)
