Virgin Media Television are seeking a new Content Executive Producer to join our Programming team. Reporting into the Head of Commissioning, the successful applicant will lead editorial across a variety of in-house and commissioned productions and play a vital part in mapping our content approach and tone of voice in the coming years. Building on the current content roadmap, they will drive creative development to deliver new in-house content opportunities and ensure we are maximising our facilities potential to engage with audiences. They will also play an important role in managing strategic partnerships with local independent producers and wider international partners. They will also feed into long term planning for the department, shaping the approach and ensuring evolving audience needs are catered for.
Specific Duties & Tasks:
* Editorial oversight of key internal productions and external commissions across all genres, from development to production and delivery. Ensuring all productions adhere to the values, editorial approach and quality expected from VMTV content.
* Working with internal and external stakeholders to source new content ideas, developing formats and shaping our future strategy.
* Develop and deliver bold and exciting content opportunities from our studios that enhance our overall output and support our public service remit
* Ensuring content is delivered on time and within budget
* Guide key stakeholders to ensure key properties are marketed effectively and that messaging is consistent and accurate.
* Engage in development for content on emerging platforms including Virgin Media Play and explore new opportunities.
* Editorial sign off on key AFC projects.
* Working closely with commercial department to create impactful, brand relevant AFC that aligns with content approach.
* Overseeing seasonal launches and content driven events including creative workshops and industry sessions.
* Actively engage with studio teams to ensure content creation opportunities and windows are actively exploited throughout the year.
* Collaborate with wider content departments to provide editorial support when necessary.
* Budget & project management, including creating budgets and production models for internal productions, working closely with HR and Finance depts.
* Managing in-house production teams
* Overseeing contracts and working closely with legal dept.
* Managing content coordination and admin team to ensure seamless content delivery year-round.

Skills & Expertise:
* Exceptional editorial and a clear understanding of Virgin Media Television’s audience, output and values
* A proven track record in developing and delivering content across multiple genres and formats
* Ability to plan and implement long-term strategies effectively
* Experience in the independent sector and extensive knowledge of commissioning production models.
* Experience building and leading teams, collaborating with wider internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability and track record of changing course, reacting and delivering high quality results in a high pressured environment
* Production and budget management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to control costs and optimise spending across multiple projects.
* A strong understanding ofPublic Service Broadcasting obligations
* Should be creative and able to take a broad view of the department and its place within the organisation, with an ability to challenge the status quo
* Minimum of 7 years’ experience producing long-form content for broadcast
* Previous experience working in a studio environment is beneficial.
