Job Title: Senior Staff Engineer
The role of a Senior Staff Engineer within the Industrialization team is pivotal in driving transformational initiatives to reduce lead time and improve processes across all areas of manufacturing.
This position plays a critical role in leading strategic efforts to enhance industrial practices from early concept through to full production, while promoting Lean Engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as a technical leader to promote robust, scalable industrialization practices ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.
* Partner with key stakeholders across various areas, including Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM), Additive Manufacturing, CNC, Finishing, Inspection, Cleaning, Packaging, Labelling.
* Lead portfolio management by anticipating the impact and integration of new products into the production system.
* Establish standard work and process times through direct observation, analysis, and engineering studies.
* Conduct Takt Time and Capacity Analysis to define resource requirements and optimize workflow efficiency.
* Identify and eliminate cycle time variation across workstations to increase throughput.
* Create and maintain current and future state value stream maps to analyze flow, identify bottlenecks, and uncover improvement opportunities.
* Monitor and improve key performance metrics such as lead time, changeover time, and inventory levels.
* Plan and lead Kaizen events focused on enhancing site performance and achieving key KPIs.
* Perform root cause analysis, develop potential solutions, and evaluate them against defined requirements.
* Develop a customer-focused continuous improvement framework for tracking and enhancing performance.
* Drive the development, assessment, and implementation of continuous improvement and process re-engineering initiatives to eliminate waste, simplify workflows, reduce risk, and enhance cost-efficiency.
* Coach, train, and mentor individuals and teams on Lean concepts to embed continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
* 6+ years of experience in engineering and Lean manufacturing.
* Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
* Demonstrated expertise in Value Stream Mapping, Time and motion studies, Line balancing, Simulation modeling, Work measurement techniques, Excel, Minitab, Power BI, Auto CAD.
* Strong track record of working in team-based environments.
