The Role
We are looking for a Customer Architect who is highly technically proficient, an excellent communicator, and has a strong customer orientation. This role is both customer-facing and technical, with a primary focus on delivering key customer features to production. The Customer Architect builds strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders such as Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Enterprise Architecture. They advise our project teams and customers on design, product enhancements, optimization, and implementation, while being commercially aware and making sound judgments. Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the implementation team to deliver our product according to customer requirements, making architectural decisions and ensuring best practices—delivering on budget and on time.
2. Provide consultancy services to our customers during product use.
3. Manage customer solutions and system architecture.
4. Translate business requirements into system design and detailed technical architecture documents clearly and professionally.
5. Identify product enhancements and inform product management of their business value.
6. Work with Operations to analyze system performance in production and evaluate enhancements for performance and cost benefits.
7. Contribute to and agree on a strategic customer roadmap with leadership.
8. Support the long-term development of our product suite.
9. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement activities.
Experience Required
* Customer-facing experience in previous roles.
* Experience presenting at C-level.
* Ability to operate within multi-location delivery teams, both onsite and remote.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
* Experience in e-commerce (retail) or high transaction volume/mission-critical cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to produce high-quality customer-facing documentation.
* Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a drive to challenge the status quo.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Technological expertise includes Java, J2EE, SOA, JBoss, Tomcat, JDBC, SOAP, REST, OOD/OOA, .NET, HTML, CSS, JS, JQuery, React, and database systems such as Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB. Willingness to travel periodically to other Datalex offices and customer sites. Knowledge of the airline industry is a plus but not necessary.
