EIB Trainees - Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate - Disbursements Division - based in Luxembourg

The EIB, the European Union's bank, seeks to recruit for its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM) – Joint Middle Office Department (JMO) – Disbursements Division (DISB), Disbursements 1 & Disbursements 2 Units, at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEES.
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st April 2026) with possible extension up to 6 months if required by University.
Eligibility: only applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as citizens from countries officially granted candidate status to join the EU (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine).
Note: Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered.
Application limit: maximum of three traineeship publications. We will only consider the first three applications submitted.
Objective of the traineeship
Joint Middle Office Department (JMO) Disbursements Division (DISB) is responsible for all disbursement activities pertaining to various lending products of the Bank within and outside the EU, and provides services to Operations (OPS), EIB Global (GLO) and Portfolio Management and Monitoring (PMM) Directorates.
You will get familiarised with EIB disbursement procedures and lending related contractual documentation. You will assist the unit in disbursement‑related tasks but also gain insight into other relevant activities, crucial for the EIB's project cycle. You will also help the team reach its business objectives.
Responsibilities
Preparation of disbursement documentation for the validation of disbursements
Support input on regular statistics
Contribute to the revision of processes and the update of the Division centralised procedure space
Contribute to the preparation of a FAQ guide on disbursements for the front office Officers
Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills
Final year of studies or university degree preferably in finance, accounting, law or a similar discipline
First experience in accounting, law firm or audit will be considered an advantage
Good to advanced knowledge of MS Office software, particularly Word and Excel. Data analytics and/or knowledge of MS Collaboration software (SharePoint) would be an advantage
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of German, Italian or Spanish will be an asset. Knowledge of other EU languages will be an advantage
