The successful candidate will contribute to a range of projects across public and private sectors, focusing on environmental sustainability and innovative transport solutions, including active travel, rail, bus, and transport strategies. This position is suitable for candidates with transport planning experience seeking a more senior role involving task and people management.
Your Responsibilities
1. Supporting the delivery of projects such as active travel, public transport, greenways, transport strategies, and large-scale developments.
2. Sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues.
3. Managing schemes from feasibility to planning stages.
4. Delivering projects for both public and private sector clients.
5. Supervising and managing junior staff.
6. Engaging directly with clients on project delivery.
7. Assisting the Project Manager with technical and financial aspects of projects.
Candidate Requirements
1. Relevant Level 8 or higher qualification.
2. Experience in transport planning within Ireland, including policy and delivery of Local Transport Plans.
3. Knowledge of Irish transport policy and guidance.
4. Strong report writing and communication skills in English.
5. Experience with strategic transport modelling (desirable: NTA regional system).
6. Experience with transport modelling tools like Linsig, Junctions 9, or microsimulation (desirable).
7. Experience in stakeholder and public consultation.
8. Ability to work collaboratively and use initiative.
9. Working towards relevant chartership.
10. Knowledge of GIS and relevant design guidance such as DMURS and the National Cycle Manual.
11. Ability to adhere to Quality Assurance systems.
