St James's Hospital Dublin is looking for an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager I for the Margaret Kehoe Ward.
The role involves education and development of nursing staff through training, orientation and supervision, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with professional and hospital standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide orientation and supervision for new nursing staff, ensuring awareness of policies and procedures.
Identify training needs of the nursing and Health Care Assistant team and provide guidance.
Encourage evidence-based practice, using a care-planning approach to nursing care; monitor and evaluate care given.
In consultation with the CNM II and other disciplines, implement and assess quality management programmes.
Collaborate with medical, paramedical and other disciplines to devise a plan of care, ensuring implementation and evaluation.
Engage with key stakeholders to maintain high standards of care for patients, staff and visitors.
Proactively manage quality and safety standards at the local level.
Deputise for the CNM II as required.
Adhere to Code of Professional Practice and Behaviours, hospital and professional standards, policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively in English, written and spoken, as appropriate to job requirements.
Participate in legislative and regulatory requirements related to Health and Safety under the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 and the Hospital Safety Statement.
Maintain mandatory learning and training up to date.
Required
Registered General Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), or eligible to register.
3 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting or relevant clinical area within the last five years.
Demonstrated management or in-charge experience within the last year.
Experience in teaching and assessing the nursing and Health Care Assistant team.
Working knowledge of healthcare patient record systems.
