We are seeking a passionate and experienced Privacy Counsel, EU Data Protection Officer to join our dynamic global privacy this pivotal role, you will lead innovative, data-driven strategies while ensuring compliance with European data protection laws. As a key player in our globally expanding organization, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of privacy and data protection in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. This position can be office based in Dublin, Madrid, Milan, or Paris. A Typical Day: Advising on a wide range of data privacy and related issues across clinical research, commercial marketing, patient support, cybersecurity, and AI. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to assess and mitigate privacy risks in new initiatives and projects. Monitoring current and emerging data privacy regulations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Supporting the implementation of privacy laws across Europe, including operationalizing GDPR requirements. Educating teams on data protection obligations under GDPR and other applicable laws. Serving as the primary contact for data privacy authorities while coordinating with the business and Chief Privacy Officer. Managing external counsel, consultants, and internal resources to ensure effective program execution. This Role May Be For You If You: Possess strong expertise in GDPR and its application within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Thrive in collaborative environments and can build strong relationships across all levels of an organization. Have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and can translate complex legal concepts into actionable business counsel. Demonstrate a high level of business acumen and can effectively influence and drive change. Are eager to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging field. To be considered, you must be admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction with a minimum of 7-10 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 4 years in privacy-related roles. You must have a background in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related life sciences.
