Job Title: Associate Planner - Leading Planning & Development Consultancy (Ireland)
Location: Dublin (Hybrid Working)
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded planning and development consultancy in Ireland as they look to appoint an experienced Associate Planner to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level planner who is ready to take on increased responsibility, lead complex projects, and play a key role in the strategic growth of a well-established, multidisciplinary consultancy.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide planning services to a diverse client base across Ireland, working closely with in-house teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes on major development projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing expert advice on planning and environmental legislation
Offering strategic input on project direction and forward-planning initiatives
Managing and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
Leading planning applications, LRDs, feasibility and due diligence work, EIARs, RIAs, HNDAs, and strategic policy projects
Liaising and negotiating with planning authorities, consultees, and third parties
Managing project budgets and overseeing financial performance
Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
Identifying new business and marketing opportunities
Mentoring and managing junior members of the planning team
Undertaking research and technical analysis to support project deliveryAbout You
This role will suit an ambitious and commercially aware planner who is comfortable leading teams and managing complex projects.
You will ideally have:
A recognised qualification in Planning
Relevant experience
Membership of the IPI and/or RTPI (or working towards chartership)
Strong consultancy experience and a detailed understanding of the Irish planning system
Proven experience leading large-scale planning projects
Excellent communication and client management skills
The ability to balance multiple projects while acting as a team leader
