The person will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant
Processing invoices, payments, and receipts
Reconciling bank statements and company accounts
Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
Maintaining accurate records in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
Supporting payroll administration
Handling petty cash and expense claims
Assisting with audits and compliance checks
Responding to supplier and client queries
General administrative support to the finance department
Skills & Competencies of the Accounts Assistant
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Time management and organizational skills
Qualifications & Experience
Preferred: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
1–2 years' experience in a finance or accounts role
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
