Job Summary
The Revenue Senior Accountant primarily has responsibility for the Revenue Accounting activities within West, Revenue general ledger and financial reporting tasks, inclusive of the consolidations function. The individual in this role is required to have in-depth accounting knowledge at the corporate level, extensive experience with SAP, and the ability to solve complex accounting issues. This position regularly interacts with other corporate departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the revenue accounting function in accordance with US GAAP, including day‑to‑day accounting for development agreements, customer rebate and overtime revenue recognition.
* Support month‑end close activities including preparation and posting of revenue journals, project reconciliation and review of revenue numbers.
* Support compliance with company policies, US GAAP, local GAAP, internal controls and SOX requirements related to revenue.
* Support monthly and quarterly reporting requirements and assist with internal and external audit requests.
* Liaise with Global Technical Accounting, Customer Success, Contract Management and Accounts receivable teams to ensure revenue completeness and accuracy.
* Reconcile and ensure timely resolution of unbilled AR and deferred revenue balances.
* Collaborate with Project Managers and FP&A on revenue forecasting.
* Interact with Controllership, FP&A, Corporate Accounting and other teams as needed to support closing and reporting cycles.
* Support standardization and process‑improvement initiatives across Global Business Solution.
* Support system initiatives including SAP S/4HANA deployment, adoption of automation/AI tools and streamline close‑related system processes.
* Perform ad‑hoc analysis and tasks as required.
Education
* Bachelors degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
Work Experience
* Minimum 3+ years of professional experience with a minimum of 1 year of experience at Senior level.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Understanding of ASC 606 Revenue Recognition Standard
* Working knowledge of US GAAP
* Proficient in SAP or similar ERP
* Proficient in MS Office applications
* Experience of BI tools an advantage
* Excellent communication i.e. ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of region, division and corporate functions
* Able to manage multiple priorities effectively, while managing ambiguity and adapting to changing business needs and priorities
* Project management, meeting facilitation, written/oral communication and presentation skills
License and Certifications
* Accounting professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CA, CIMA, CPA etc.) is required.
