This motif mimics how our styles and components can combine to make beautifully complex, natural, and intuitive designs.Your Role And ResponsibilitiesThe Carbon Design System team is looking for a Front-End Web Developer Lead to become part of the team responsible for delivering Carbon's core system to IBM. In this role, you will be developing in the heart of the Carbon ecosystem leveraging the latest front-end development methodologies, tools, and techniques.You will be instrumental in bringing industry-defining software products, cloud services, and web applications to users worldwide and making a global impact by delivering innovative user experiences.This role will be responsible for building a new team of developers co-located in Ireland, with the expectation ofOperate as a technical leader and people manager.This role will also be responsible for working with web standards communities to advance new emerging standards and UI capabilities.Preferred EducationNoneRequired Technical And Professional ExpertiseDemonstrated experience in web developmentExperience managing less senior developers as a first-line people managerExtensive demonstrated web development experienceStrong expertise in building and maintaining modern, accessible, tested, and scalable frontend web experiences.Strong experience running small to mid-size teams using Agile Scrum methodologiesExtensive experience in creating and maintaining CI/CD workflows, such as Jenkins, Github workflows, Netlify, etc.Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, ideally React and Web Components.Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, Sass, JavaScript, and TypeScript.Prior track record of cross-functional collaboration with designersExperience developing production applications as a front-end technical leaderExcellent written/async communication skills and experience operating as part of a global teamPreferred Technical And Professional ExperienceBuilding or maintaining a design systemUsing a design systemDeep knowledge of web accessibilityGitHub - projects, issue management, actions, etc.Open source project maintainership, development, governance, community, etc.Experience with using Figma
