Opportunity Details
The research group of Associate Professor Jarryd Pla has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Fellow. You will conduct simulations, design, and experimental work on superconducting quantum devices to perform quantum-noise-limited measurements at elevated temperatures (> 1.5 Kelvin). The role focuses on developing devices and techniques for microwave quantum technologies, such as quantum computers, to operate effectively at higher temperatures, reducing reliance on complex and costly refrigeration systems.
Position Information
* Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia
* Salary: Level A - $110,059 to $117,718 per annum + 17% superannuation
* Full-time, Fixed-term contract – ASAP start until March 2028
* Reporting to: Associate Professor Jarryd Pla

Skills & Experience
* PhD in Physics, Quantum Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
* Experience with quantum devices and hardware, especially at microwave frequencies and millikelvin temperatures
* Fabrication and operation of superconducting quantum devices (advantageous)
* Microwave measurement and characterization of quantum devices
* Experience with dilution refrigerators and temperature insertion systems
* Strong research independence and publication record
* Teamwork, communication skills, and stakeholder engagement
